Series 1: Finding Serenity

This collection was inspired by two objects that I found in my dad’s basement during lockdown in the Austrian countryside. The pieces date back to 1926 and he kept them from the farm he grew up on. The table’s use was for cutting meat and the bench was a tool to cut or carve wood. I washed them, sandpapered them, took out rusty nails and heated them in my dad’s sauna (if he only knew) to get rid of the wood worms.

After putting on a new varnish they transformed and took on a life of their own. The warm wood, their character formed by time and a touch as soft as butter.

Thank you everyone for coming to the opening event of our first exhibition! We were happy to show you in person what we’ve been working on over the last months and how we see knit applied in the field of furniture and interior design. Enjoy the snippets below we took during the vernissage in the heart of the Marais in Paris.
